St Vincent de Paul Society - SVP

The SVP is an international Christian organization, Catholic in origin and character, which is dedicated to helping anyone in need, whatever their religious persuasion (or none).  The SVP in Garstang, as elsewhere, operates as a small group known as a Conference which meets regularly to coordinate the members’ work.

No Act of Charity is Alien to the SVP

The core of our work is visiting, and befriending, local people.  In addition, we organize an annual Healing Mass and Christmas Party.  However, our work ranges from the distribution of food parcels, to giving financial assistance to people in need, as well as supporting ex-offenders.  We also send financial help to our Twinned Conference in the Sudan.

If you are interested in joining SS Mary and Michael SVP Conference, please contact our Conference President, Mrs Helen Forshaw, on 07535736975  or hm.forshaw@btinternet.com.

SVP Christmas Party 2013

Every Christmas time, our SVP organises a Christmas Party for housebound and elderly people in our parish. They are entertained by members of our family choir.
