Our Harvest Festival is a special time for giving thanks to God for all the special gifts he gives us. But also we remember those around us who may not be able to attend church through sickness. This year our parishioners made gift boxes for all the people being taken communion at home...
Our schoolchildren, childrens liturgy, youth group and parishioners all took part. We decorated shoeboxes and filled them with food items, fruit and a prayer card. The ladies of the flower arranging group made lovely displays for the altars and pulpit. The photos show some of the lovely displays arranged on the windowsills by the youth.
Also we remembered the homeless and all the food from around the church was taken to our Homeless action centre in Lancaster to be used in meals by the staff there. The parish has received a lovely letter of thanks from them.
