A Parish community came together to celebrate the wonderful array of gifts that God blesses us with. Our school children decorated window-ledges with fruit and vegetables they had grown themselves and added photos and poems.
The flower arrangers worked hard all morning to make beautiful displays and at the same time a willing team of parishioners and friends were packing boxes of food and fruit for the sick and housebound who were unable to attend mass. These were delivered mainly by the Eucharistic Ministers as they took communion to them.
When it was time for evening mass the church looked beautiful - a credit to all the work put in by so many people.
All the fresh produce will go to the Homeless centre at Lancaster where it will be made into meals.
